Exa Beauty Review

These days, most of my favorite makeup products come from TikTok and YouTube recommendations — and one brand I’ve been watching a lot lately is Exa Beauty. The clean makeup brand first caught my eye when Olivia Rodrigo used Exa Beauty High Fidelity Foundation in a GRWM video on YouTube. Rodrigo’s skin looked so radiant on camera that I knew I had to try the foundation myself. I snagged the Exa Bundle ($99) and settled on the Exa Beauty Jump Start Smoothing Primer ($34), the High Fidelity Balancing Color Corrector ($27) in pink, and finally the High Fidelity Foundation ($38) in Gretta 460

What I like about the Exa Beauty High Fidelity Foundation

The High Fidelity Foundation is lightweight, buildable and has a satin finish that leaves skin with a radiant, natural glow. Upon application, I noticed that the High Fidelity Foundation felt barely there, almost silky. The product blended easily with my makeup sponge and my hands (a big plus if you’re ever without your makeup brushes or sponges). It also didn’t pill when applied over my skincare products, sunscreen, or foundation. The foundation evens out my skin tone and the appearance of sunspots and hyperpigmentation without completely covering up my freckles. I prefer light to medium coverage foundations and Exa Beauty’s fit right in there – although this can definitely be built into a full coverage foundation. And thanks to ingredients like soothing maqui berry and hyaluronic acid, my skin looked hydrated and healthy.

What to consider about the Exa Beauty High Fidelity Foundation

This is a clean foundation that comes in an impressive range of shades, looks and feels natural on the skin, and has the best staying power of any clean foundation I’ve tried. I used the foundation with the Exa Beauty Primer but even without it I had no problems with the foundation moving or wrinkling.

Who Exa Beauty High Fidelity Foundation is best for

Formulated to be suitable for all skin types, High Fidelity Foundation is best suited for those trying to achieve a radiant, dewy look. This foundation is also great for people who struggle to find a shade that matches their skin tone. With 43 shades to choose from and a shade finder tool to help you narrow down your options, finding a shade that works for me was pretty easy. The shade finder tool will ask you for your color family, skin undertones, skin type and more to find your match. The tool also provides reference photos, videos, and reviews from real people who have tested the foundation shade recommended to you. Alternatives to your recommended shade are also available if you feel you need to go a few shades darker or lighter.
