family holiday was first announced in February 2021, with Golden Globe Award-winning actress Jennifer Garner on board to produce and star. Linden Entertainment’s Nicole King and Gray Matter Productions’ Lawrence Gray and Ben Everard have also been announced as producing the film with Garner. David Hyman and Jason Brian Rosenthal are executive producers.
McG who is best known for directing the films The babysitter and edge of the world, committed as director and producer. Also, Adam Sztykiel is writing the latest draft screenplay based on the original screenplay by Victoria Strouse.
Like many other Netflix movies, family holiday is inspired by another work. It is inspired by the book by New York Times bestselling author Amy Krouse Rosenthal Bedtime for mom.

Yes! Production officially began on December 6, according to an official Instagram post by leading actress Jennifer Garner. Filming is reportedly taking place in Los Angeles, California and is rumored to continue through March 2023.

We don’t have an official release date yet. This is not surprising as filming for the film has only recently started. It will be some time before Netflix announces a release date. However, our best guess is that the earliest we’re looking at is a fall 2023 release. We’ll definitely share the official release date as soon as it’s announced.

As previously mentioned, Jennifer Garner was the first actress to be cast. She will play Jess Walker. In November 2022, it was announced that Ed Helms was joining the cast. He will portray the role of Bill Walker. Recent cast additions include Wednesday Star Emma Myers and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changer Star Brady Noon takes on the roles of CC and Wyatt. CC and Wyatt are Jess and Bill’s children. As soon as further cast additions are announced, we will inform you about it.
