How does my lipstick last longer?
The eternal question of how long a lipstick will last does not seem to have been resolved. The fact is, how long a lipstick lasts depends not only on your lips, but also on the pencil itself. Some lipsticks just aren’t made to last forever. Matte lipsticks are generally known to last longer than creamy ones.
We will now show you what you can do to make it last as long as possible:
- Gently exfoliate your lips
- use now lip balm and leave it on for a few minutes
- Then dab it off with a tissue to absorb excess oil
- Now the lip liner comes into play, with which you trace your lip contour (we do not recommend overlining with red lipstick)
- Then you can apply the first layer of your lipstick
- Since one layer is not enough for most lipsticks, your lips are now dabbed again with a cosmetic tissue
- Now apply the second and then a third layer
- If necessary, you can powder your lips a little so that the color is fixed
What eye make-up do I wear with red lipstick?
Since red is already a very bright color, the motto “less is more” can be used here when it comes to eye make-up. Mascara to lengthen and define your eyelashes – also in brown – and, if necessary, a delicate eyeliner on the outer end of your eyes are sufficient for the everyday look.
In the evening it can also be a little more dramatic and complemented by a continuous eyeliner or some eyeshadow in olive, gray or brown. However, you should avoid eye-catching colors.
Does it really help against dark circles?
A red lipstick as an alternative to concealer? It sounds like a joke, but it’s totally doable. Because orange is one of the complementary colors to blue and thus compensates for bluish under-eye circles. Therefore, you should use lipsticks with a yellowish undertone in this case, so that it is not too bluish and therefore has no effect as a concealer. The greener your dark circles are, the more likely you are to choose lipsticks with a blue undertone.
Once you have decided on a colour, use a brush to apply the lipstick below your eyes, dab it in and then cover it all with foundation. The dark circles disappear and you look awake again.
When should I not wear red lipstick?
In most cases, when and where you wear red lipstick is up to you. However, there are a few occasions when you should rather use more subtle colors. On the one hand, this applies to appointments at offices or to photographing a picture for official documents such as ID cards. Bright lips are rather rare here. To be on the safe side, you should also replace flashy colors with calmer tones at weddings, because this is ultimately about the bride. Besides that, some professions can get tricky if you show up with red lipstick. Here you should be able to judge for yourself what is appropriate.
