The family drama is about to be taken up a notch when the second part of the Harry & Megan documentation appeared. In the official trailer for part 2, Prince Harry does not hold back with his family. “They happily lied to protect my brother [Prince William]but they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us,” says Prince Harry.
Prince Harry wonders ‘what would have happened’ if he and Megan Markle had not fled Britain for the United States, as they did after stepping down as senior royals. “Our safety has been pulled. Everyone in the world knew where we were,” Meghan admits. As things reached a boiling point, Prince Harry said, “We’ve got to get out of here.” There’s even footage of Prince Harry on the “freedom flight” as he and Meghan departed.
King Charles III and Princess Dianas The youngest son calls out “institutional gaslighting” in the trailer. “I wasn’t thrown to the wolves, I was fed to the wolves,” says Meghan.
Tyler Perry helped Prince Harry and Meghan by offering them his home in Los Angeles to stay in after they decided to start their next chapter in California. “They just wanted to be free. They wanted to be free, love and be happy. I welcomed that,” Tyler says in the trailer.
Prince Harry and Prince William grew up close together as they were bonded by the tragic death of their mother. Feuding rumors surfaced as Prince Harry started dating Meghan. Prince Harry confirmed in a 2019 interview that he and William weren’t as close as they used to be.
“Part of this role and part of this job, of this family being under the pressure that they are under, things inevitably happen,” Prince Harry said on his ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey. “But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. We are certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and I know he will always be there for me.”
Two years later, Prince Harry admitted there were still tensions with his older brother. “I love William more than anything. We’ve been through hell together and shared an experience, but we’re on different paths,” Prince Harry said during his meeting with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. “The relationship is space right now and time hopefully heals all things.”
That Harry & Megan Documentaries are unlikely to help fix things between the brothers. The last 3 episodes of Harry & Megan will be available on Netflix on December 15th. That first 3 episodes are currently available on the streaming service.
