The 2022 People’s Choice Awards red carpet has kicked off from The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, hosted by E!’s Laverne Coxwho is on site this year to conduct an interview nominees. Among them is Lizzo, who will bring her inimitable sense of style to the event, especially as she takes the stage to accept the honor of People’s Champion.
The night will celebrate notable achievements in film, television and music with a ceremony hosted by Saturday Night Live nominee Kenan Thompson for Best Comedy Star. This year’s presenters include Billy Porter, who brings his unique, dramatic flair to every red carpet appearance, whether in a tuxedo dress or a metallic jumpsuit. Sarah Hyland will also take the stage to present herself in a glamorous look, coming from her stylish bridal wear after her wedding and hen party.
We’ll also see performances from Shania Twain and actor Ryan Reynolds, who will be recognized as icons and will certainly pull out all the stops when it comes to putting their outfits together for the occasion.
The red carpets at past People’s Choice Awards have offered a mix of glamor and bold, from Chloë and Halle Bailey’s sparkly jumpsuits in 2020 to Becky G’s cut-out yellow dress in 2021. Sydney Sweeney also delivered a memorable look last year and Channeled Marilyn Monroe in a plunging neckline mini dress with a glittery oversized bow adorning the neckline. In another nostalgic fashion moment, this year Christina Aguilera recreated her iconic “Dirrty” video look, complete with fishnet tights and a lace-up corset.
