Lea Michele reveals Barbra Streisand’s letter after landing ‘Funny Girl’ – Hollywood Life +2023

Leah Michele is still raving about the role she shares with the screen legend Barbra Streisand. And on Monday 5 December episode of Late night with Seth Meyers, The 36-year-old actress revealed what happened when Babs sent her a letter after taking on the lead role Funny girl. “Oh my god I did, I finally heard from Barbra,” Lea told the host Seth Meyers. “I came into work the other day and my dresser…had this gold cover. It was like, I don’t know Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to be invited. I would think it would depend on pigeons.” Seth asked if it was hard, why was that joy Alum joked, “No, it was easy as a Featha,” in Barbra’s clear voice.

And as for the content? “It was very sweet, she wrote me this beautiful letter,” she said. “One thing she said in it was, ‘It’s really wonderful when your dreams come true, isn’t it?’ And I fell to my knees. I called Ryan Murphymy mother, Jonathan Grofand Michael Mayr. I thought, ‘These are the people who need to know.’” Michael Mayer is the show’s director.

That Yentl star isn’t the only one who has supported Lea’s big move to Broadway, however. HollywoodLife spoke EXCLUSIVELY to Lea’s best friend Jonathan about what he said to Lea before her debut as Fanny. “I was texting this morning, I was driving up from Pennsylvania where I live, my mom and I came up to see her,” he said HollywoodLife ONLY during Disney’s D23 Expo in September. “And I said, ‘It feels like Christmas morning.’ And we FaceTimed the night before and I said, ‘It feels like Christmas Eve.’ Like when you’re looking forward to the big day.”

Lea’s longtime pal said on the night of her first appearance in Barbra’s former film role that we’d all “seen a girl become a woman before our eyes”.
