Prince William40 and Kate Middleton40, was visiting America for the first time in eight years when they landed in Boston, MA on November 30 to attend the Earthshot award ceremony and other events. The Prince and Princess of Wales showed up at MGM Music Hall to celebrate the Earthshot ceremony alongside other celebrities on December 2 and looked incredible. The 40-year-old wore her brunette tresses in classic Hollywood waves and accessorised with a pair of teardrop emerald earrings to match her choker. Kate completed her look with a pair of sparkling gold pumps and a brown sleek smoky eyeshadow look. For his part, William looked stunning in a navy velvet tuxedo with a black bow tie and silver watch.

Alongside William and Kate, other famous faces attended the event, which honors innovators who are helping to fix the planet Billie Eilish, Annie Lenox, Ellie Goulding and Chloe x Hallall of which have occurred. Rami Malek, Catherine O’Hara and Shailene Woodley were also there to present awards. Like last year, Kate presented one of the awards and William made closing remarks.

Ahead of her final appearance at the awards show, William passed on his debut tick tock to promote the ceremony. In the video, which was posted to the Earthshot Prize official site and can be seen below, he was seen saying, “Earthshot Prize is going to…” while looking into the front camera and smiling. Then he put it on the ground and moved as if to step on it. Text reading “Boston, this Friday December 2nd” then flashed across the screen while the video fast-forwarded through photos of the 15 finalists who were nominated for awards in five categories, including Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air , revitalize our oceans, build a zero-waste world and fix our climate.

In addition to attending the Earthshot Prize Awards, William and Kate made plans to appear at various other events in Boston. They were first greeted at Boston City Hall, where Mayor Michelle Wu and ambassador Caroline Kennedy helped start the countdown to Wednesday’s awards ceremony. Then on Thursday, they looked at the work Boston-based organizations are doing to create a more sustainable world and learned about some of the innovative technologies being used at Greentown Labs in Somerville. They also heard from Roca, a non-profit organization that has been working for 35 years to develop a coherent approach to save and transform the lives of high-risk young people.

On the same day as the Earthshot event, Kate also paid a visit to the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University. There she learned some of the best practices that she can transfer to her own Royal Foundation and the Center for Early Childhood as she continues her pioneering work. Finally, the royal couple visited the John F Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot mission, which helped America put a man on the moon, was the inspiration for the Earthshot Prize.
