Despite being the richest man in the world, he struggles to garner mass favor from the public. Even after so many projects, he still manages to make occasional public appearances. Recently, the Tesla owner took the stage during Dave Chappelle’s show. Well, that along with other factors can cause him to lose some of his wealth.
How Elon Musk might be following the same path as Kanye West
Kanye West lost his billionaire status thanks to his controversial comments. Brands like Adidas, GAP and Balenciaga ended their contract with him and stopped some of his incoming fortune. Now Musk may be following the same path. According to a source, his company, Tesla, has taken a tumble and recently closed at $167. Stocks are often a market of emotions. When one unit of a company suffers, the company and its stock value also suffer.
Many people protested Musk’s opinion when he asked Dr. Fauci criticized on Twitter. Speaking about him, he said: “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci.” That’s a taunt for both Fauci and people who prefer other pronouns. dr Fauci had a lot to say during the pandemic, urging people to wear masks and get vaccinated. Regardless, no repercussions seem to stop Musk from voicing his opinions publicly.

While Musk has been an advocate for free speech, it has stolen him a bit from the debate between the right to free speech and the right to be offended. As Chappelle’s show video goes viral, it remains to be seen how the whole ordeal affects him and if he will meet the same fate as Kanye West.
