Halle Bailey celebrated the fantastical world of Pandora in an outfit fit for (and inspired by) a goddess. At the Avatar: The Way of Water premiere on December 12, The Little Mermaid star wore an asymmetric gold Balmain bustier paired with low-rise black pants and gold accessories. She attended the premiere with her boyfriend DDG.

Bailey worked with her favorite stylist Nicole Gutman to put together this fabulous look and finally slay it on the red carpet. The story and structure of the gold bustier immediately made it the focal point of the outfit, honoring the mythological elements of the “Avatar” universe, drawing from ancient Egyptian mythology.

Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing collaborated with an Egyptian jewelery designer AzzaFahmy for this stunning, intricate piece. The bustier featured armor-like panels across the bust, a sculptural silhouette, and braided detailing along the border inspired by ancient symbols.

“Actress @hallebailey revels in ancient Egyptian inspiration for the world premiere of Avatar 2, wearing a gold Eye of Horus bustier crafted in collaboration with Egyptian jeweler @azzafahmy,” Balmain continued Instagram. “The gold-plated bustier is inspired by Egyptian symbolism, including the Eye of Horus, the wings of the goddess Nekhbet, the lotus, the Shen ring and a scarab.”

While the bustier could have stood alone, Goodman and Bailey were lavishly accessorized with gold throughout. The singer wore a thin gold headband over her box braids. She also wore a layered gold choker with organic twig-like strands Alexis Bittar. Bailey also leaned into the asymmetry of her bustier and opted for mismatched poem earrings Mara Paris. Under Bailey’s oversized, low-rise pants, she completed the look with pointed-toe punk stud pumps from Alexander McQueen.
