For years, George Clooney was one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors. But that all changed when the Oscar winner met his now-wife, high-profile human rights lawyer Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin), and fell deeply in love. Today he is not only married, but also the father of two children.
George and Amal wed in a ceremony in Venice, Italy in 2014, and the latter gave birth to fraternal twins, Alexander and Ella, in June 2017. Though George is known for starring in dozens of Hollywood productions including Ocean’s Eleven. ,”, “Up in the Air,” “Gravity” and now “Ticket to Paradise” alongside Julia Roberts, he is passionate about his roles as a husband and father. “In marriage, and now with the kids, you give up the selfishness of just taking care of yourself,” George said persons in 2020. “It’s a wonderful thing. Amal and I talk about it every day. . . . We feel so lucky.”
Although George and Amal have never appeared in public with their children, they are not shy about speaking about them in the press. In an interview on October 21 “The Drew Barrymore Show” George confessed he was “terrified” to find out he was having twins. “That wasn’t part of the plan,” he said. “We went to this thing at 12 weeks, where they go, there’s the kid. [To] look at the picture of the child,” he recalled. “And [the doctor] goes, ‘It’s a boy.’ Then he says: ‘And a girl.’ And I thought, ‘What?’ It was such a disaster. I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’” Of course, George really appreciates his kids now. “Now it’s the biggest thing in the world,” he said. “I was scared then.”
On Dec. 4, as they walked the red carpet for the 45th Kennedy Center Honors, the Clooneys shared entertainment tonight something about the talents and personalities of her twins. “They speak a language that we don’t speak,” Amal said (Alexander and Ella speak French and Italian). Meanwhile, George joked about her mischievous sense of humor. “They have some jokes they play, they’re so dirty I can’t even tell you,” George shared. “Whose contribution do you think this is in education?” Amal asked, to which George jokingly replied, “My wife is dirty.
Previously in a 2017 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, George reflected on fatherhood and opened up about missing his bachelor lifestyle. “I certainly don’t,” he said. “It seems like forever ago. Now my house is filled with the warm sounds of babies crying. You should see when my friends show up and see me changing a diaper, the laughter that comes from them. I say, ‘I know, I know.’ I’ve given them so much shit for so many years, I deserve all of it.”

Alexander Clooney
George and Amal’s son, Alexander, was born on June 6, 2017 The GQ profile 2020 From his father, the outlet described Alexander as having “a shock of brown hair and messy teeth,” adding that he “looks like George and Amal Clooney’s son.” He’s also fluent in Italian, which George hilariously called a “really dumb thing” given that neither he nor Amal speak the language. Per George’s episode of “WTF with Marc Maronpodcast, he and his son also have an adorable morning routine. “Alexander bangs on my bedroom door at 8am every morning. I go, ‘Who is it?’ And he says, ‘It’s Alexander Clooney,'” the actor shared. “I open the door, he jumps in and I laugh out loud.”
Ella Clooney
Ella, Alexander’s twin sister, was also born on June 6, 2017. Like her brother, Ella speaks Italian (the twins speak along, according to George’s September interview entertainment tonight). Although the twins have similar hobbies, George previously said persons that his and Amal’s daughter is much shyer than her brother. “Ella is very shy around adults,” he said. “We have a St. Bernard puppy, Rosie, and she’s about 125 pounds of sheer energy. She was stung by a bee, and now when we’re walking the dog and hikers come by, Ella kind of hides her face while Alexander walks right up to her and says, ‘Rosie was stung by a bee.’ He explains it to every single person.”
