Fin Wolfhard Steps into the world of Guillermo del Toro as the voice of Candlewick in the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s version of Pinocchiowhich will be available on Netflix on December 9th. HollywoodLife spoke EXCLUSIVELY to the actor about his experience with one of Hollywood’s finest directors.
“It was so incredible. I’m sure everyone will say that because he’s probably one of the great filmmakers alive,” Finn said HollywoodLife at the film’s premiere in New York City on December 6. “I cherish every single moment I have with him. He is such an amazing, kind, affectionate person.”
At just 19 years old, Finn also wants to be the director. That stranger things star, along with Billy BrykHe will direct and write the screenplay for the horror comedy hell of a summer. HollywoodLife asked the actor if he had spoken to Guillermo about directing tips.
“I’ll just ask him a few things. I haven’t really scratched the surface yet because I don’t want to bother him. I got into filmmaking because I was making old horror and gore movies, and he’s the king when it comes to owning horror stuff and making horror movies, so just getting over with him is pretty amazing to be able to talk things. His stories are amazing,” said Finn.
Guillermo and stop motion legend Markus Gustafson have teamed up to direct this reinterpretation of the classic Carlo Collodi Story. Gregory Mann speaks the role of Pinocchio, the legendary wooden boy who embarks on an enchanted adventure that transcends worlds and reveals the life-giving power of love. The film also features the voices of Cate Blanchett, Christopher Walz, Burn Gormanand more.
After graduation hell of a summerFinn and the rest of the stranger things The cast will come together to film the fifth and final season of the series. Production is scheduled to start in 2023. It is expected that Finn will also take on the role of Trevor in the series Ghostbusters: Life After Death Consequence.
