Exclusive Mary Berry’s Ultimate Christmas Clip: Learn how to make Mary Berry’s favorite holiday filling +2023

The Great British Baking Show may have disappointed fans in 2022, but OG host Mary Berry brings something to lighten our spirits this holiday season. Mary Berry’s Ultimate Christmas is a new special that premieres December 19 on PBS. In it, the beloved baking icon will share her family’s favorite holiday dishes, including mini scone canapé with Stilton and sage, roast turkey with lemon and herbs and all the trimmings, crunchy roast potatoes, ruby red cabbage and her beloved apricot and chestnut filling. And don’t worry, there will be dessert.

To celebrate Mary Berry’s Ultimate Christmas, Decider brings you an exclusive look at Mary Berry’s recipe for apricot chestnut filling. In the clip, you can see Dame Mary chatting about the holidays as she prepares the surprisingly simple dish. She advises us on the best way to chop dried apricots — in four — and raves about how liberating it is to roughly chop parsley years after you taught her to finely chop it. The juiciest moment isn’t when Mary Berry reveals she’s fine using frozen chestnuts, but when she spills the tea over it like her kids always forget to wrap it. But no worry. Dame Mary Berry always has extra. That’s because she’s a hospitality queen who has every vacation covered.

Dame Mary Berry is joined by Executive Chef Angela Hartnett, Monica Galetti and Rylan Mary Berry’s Ultimate Christmas. According to PBS, Berry said, “It goes without saying that Christmas is a very special time of year, but in recent years it has become a challenge for all of us, whether it’s the emotional hardship of lost loved ones or the economic hardship of cooking for large ones families or a combination of both. In this special, I put together everything you need with tips to make it a festive day to remember.”

Mary Berry’s Ultimate Christmas Premieres on PBS, PBS.org and the PBS app Monday, December 19 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
