And one of those tough decisions involves Alfie. By the end of season two, Alfie has shared his unrequited feelings for Emily. He wants to make a bold move in their relationship, but Emily is caught in a love triangle. Given the news that Laviscount has been promoted to a series regular, we’re hoping that means Alfie is sticking around, even if it further complicates Emily’s love life.
Emily’s discovery of Gabriel and Camille’s reconciliation has upset their perfectly laid plans, but Darren Star thinks maybe it wasn’t a wrench at all – maybe it was fate.
“By the way, that doesn’t mean the end of Alfie,” Star said shine when asked about Emily’s failure to return Alfie’s feelings. “What happened to Emily doesn’t mean the end of Alfie. I mean, it’s like, sometimes you look at a relationship that you think is the one and you realize that one could be someone else. So I don’t think so… the door is definitely open to me for Emily and Alfie.”
On October 14, Lily Collins herself alluded to that open door. When speaking to entertainment tonight, the series star teased a bit about what’s to come with the arrival of season three. “More love triangles, more drama, more laughter, more fashion, more locations, more France!” Lily said, also promising that there would be “lots of cliffhangers” to set the show up for the already confirmed fourth season.

In fact, there are — Netflix released a handful of first-look photos of the upcoming third season throughout September and November of 2022. In the footage, we see Emily with her co-workers, friends (hey, Mindy!) and…lovers? These new pics of Emily, Alfie and Gabriel in particular raise eyebrows as the energy of the scenes with Alfie and Gabriel shines great different.
