Rob Lowe is starring in the upcoming Netflix movie dog away, a heartwarming tale of everyday heroism that follows a father and son as they search for their lost dog on the Appalachian Trail. And no, the dog isn’t dying (according to Netflix).
The dog at the heart of this story is Gonker, an adorable lab who loves donuts and fetch games. dog away is based on the 2016 book by Pauls Toutonghi. Stephen Herek is directing from a screenplay by Nick Santora.
Fielding Marshall (Johnny Berchtold) loves his adorable pup, but he becomes increasingly stressed when Gonker disappears on the trail, especially since Gonker needs medication to survive. Luckily for Gonker, Fielding and his father, John (Lowe), will stop at nothing to find their four-legged friend.
