TJ and Amy Ferson married on an unknown date after being in a relationship for a number of years. She has also pursued a career in journalism, working for American Cable News Network (CNN), which is where they may have met, but she tends to keep her personal life as private as possible. During their marriage, TJ and Amy welcomed two children, including a daughter brianna and son jaiden, together. Their marriage lasted until 2007 when they divorced.

Much more is known about TJ’s second marriage to a lawyer Marilee Fiebig. The couple had a romance and married in 2010. Less than three years later, they welcomed a daughter sabine. In March 2014, TJ gushed about Marilee in a sweet feature posted on TheRoot.com. He also spoke about his troubles with the marriage in the past and how his engagement with Marilee was different than what he had before.
“Not only is my marriage still intact, it’s actually working pretty well, and that made me uncomfortable,” he wrote in the feature. “Look, I didn’t quite understand why my marriage was thriving, and I was afraid that if I don’t understand what we’re doing right, we’ll know what to do next?”
He also admitted the “eureka” moment happened when the beauty helped him write a business email. “I asked my wife to check it out and she found the tone of the email to be too aggressive, confrontational and negative. She was right,” she said. “Your input stopped me from making the mistake of hitting send. This harmless example is emblematic of our entire relationship. In everything I do, I have a partner who watches over me, advises me, keeps me on course and protects me from mistakes, no matter how big or small.”
TJ also shared that while he was “still the same guy at heart,” he underwent a lot of positive changes when he married Marilee. “My family and I are closer, my individual wealth has increased every year since we met, I’ve learned a second language, I’m healthier, I use the N-word less, I listen to Sunday services more, I am a better friend, I’m more forgiving than I used to be, I’m more involved in charity,” he said. “In every way, I’m better off because I’m married. So for me, a successful marriage has revolved around this principle: I like who I am with her.”
Not only has he written great things about his marriage to Marilee on outlets, but he’s also praised her on social media. On their 10th anniversary, he took on Facebook sharing two photos of her and a long caption about his gratitude. “This special #decadechallenge is a little late, but… Marilee Fiebig married me 10 years ago. And despite my best efforts, she stayed married to me for the last 10 years. That’s not an exaggeration,” he wrote. “I’m not dramatic. I have given her many reasons, excuses and opportunities to fuck her beautiful butt. But instead, with her built-in black superpower, she displayed a grace and patience that is beyond belief.”
“To ask her for another 10 years would be too much to ask. 10 more months? That can even be a stretch,” he continued. “If she gave me 10 more weeks, I should consider myself lucky. If she can put up with me for another 10 days, I’d be grateful. But if she would devote even 10 minutes of her time to me today, I would consider myself lucky. This is MARILEE FIEBIG HOLMES, y’all.
