Al Roker practically returns to ‘Today’ after 2 hospitalizations – Hollywood Life +2023

Al RokerThe 68-year-old gave an update on his health during his virtual appearance today on Monday December 12th. After receiving further treatment for blood clots at the hospital, Al explained how he was doing from home Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, and the other anchors. “It was a tough hit, I won’t deny that,” the weatherman said, adding, “It was the toughest yet and you know I’ve had my share of operations.” Al also said that the support that he received “conveyed a deep feeling of gratitude”.

Al went on to explain that he’s lost muscle mass since he’s been in the hospital for four weeks. “There is just a certain weakness. I do physical therapy, occupational therapy every day. I just need to get my strength back,” he said. Al explained that he is postponing his knee surgery, which was scheduled for next month, to allow him to continue recovering.

“But I feel good. I feel strong,” he told his co-hosts. “Every day I feel a little bit better. I made dinner last night. There’s going to be a little trouble, but a lot of people have a lot more to do with fewer resources.” Al thanked the doctors at New York Presbyterian before his co-hosts mentioned how great his wife was Deborah Roberts62, was during this process.

Al was hospitalized in November with a blood clot. He informed his fans in one Instagram Post after so many asked about his absence today. “Last week I was taken to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots to my lungs. After some medical strokes, I am so fortunate to be receiving excellent medical care and on the road to recovery,” he wrote. While receiving treatment, Al missed the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time in 27 years.

After the two hospitalizations, Al finally returned home on Thursday, December 8th. He smiled with his wife Deborah and their daughter Leila, 24, in photos taken after he left the hospital. Al thanked everyone for sending her well wishes and wrote: “So incredibly grateful to family, friends, medical professionals, Today’s show family, and all your thoughts and prayers.”
