Elon Musk is changing the face of Twitter. The entrepreneur, who is known to be on good terms with Kanye West and Donald Trump, made headlines for buying the social media site and then restoring their suspended accounts. Both Trump and West have had their accounts suspended for previously violating Twitter’s policies. But now that Musk has completed the purchase, he plans to put his touch on the site, despite the criticism.

The businessman wanted a platform that promoted freedom of expression without censorship. In an attempt to do so, there was a “big bang” internally at the Twitter bureau when they decided to introduce bank-suspended accounts. Here’s how it happened.
How Elon Musk Implements Free Speech By Bringing Back Kanye West And Other Banned Accounts
A few days ago, Musk took a poll about a change he was planning to tweet. He asked, “Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to banned accounts provided they haven’t broken the law or engaged in egregious spam? The answer to that was 72.4% yes while 27.6% said no, with over 31,000 people responding to the pool. Looking at the results, Musk replied, “The people have spoken. Amnesty begins next week. Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” and thus made the decision to restore accounts.
The move comes from Musk’s need to create an online revolution for free speech. He believes that people should be allowed to practice free speech as long as it doesn’t break the law. However, not all of his new rules have worked for us. For example, charging a monthly fee for verification is said to have depreciated the value of the verified brand.

While welcoming Ye back to Twitter, the singer hasn’t stemmed his barrage of controversial tweets, which has also drawn criticism for the platform. Twitter is still in the process of making new changes and it remains to be seen what other rules will be introduced.
