the house of the dragon is, without a doubt, one of the best series of 2022. Addictive, exciting, spectacular, intriguing and with a wonderful cast that made us fall in love from the beginning as the cast of Game of Thrones.

The detail that Aemond concealed in the house of the dragon
Let’s start by remembering something, what happens to Aemond after fighting with his cousins as children and just before one of the most important scenes of the series that marks the confrontation of Rhaenyra and Alicent takes place. The stepbrother of the first and son of the second (the palace-style dramas that allow these things cannot be liked more), he receives a cut in the eye and loses it, although in exchange he takes the most powerful dragon of all: Vaghar.
As the story progresses and the cast of characters changes hands, Aemond, now played by the British Ewan Mitchell, appears with an eyepatch. What lies below is not discovered until the tenth episode. Or so we thought, because it turns out that the intro of episode nine already told us what was going on.
The wonderful intro in which the blood runs through different emblems is full of details that tell us what is going to happen. In fact all headers of the house of the dragon they revealed secrets of what was going to happen, changing slightly and telling us more than meets the eye. And in this case it has to do with Aemond’s eye.
The blood runs through the line of succession of the House Targaryen starting with Aegon the Conqueror and reaching Viserys in the intro of the ninth episode. There the blood begins to fork until it reaches the line with Alicent. Several emblems arise from the marriage with the young Hightower. The first is a spider that represents her daughter and is on the left. The second a wine glass carved with a naked woman, an obvious representation of his eldest son Aegon, whom we saw on more than one occasion loving both pleasures. In the third, to the far right, is the emblem of Aemond and it is a blue sapphire. The reason for that choice will come later.
Now let’s go forward one chapter. Specifically at the moment when the young Lucerys Targaryen meets his uncle Aemond. At that moment he removes the patch andboom!, a blue sapphire occupies the hole in Aemond’s eye.
