Adele gave a fan the surprise of a lifetime during a show on the second weekend of her Las Vegas stay called Weekends with Adele – and got quite the surprise herself. In a clip shared by concert-goers Jamy G On TikTok, Adele approached her to ask her about her favorite childhood memory, and then expressed her surprise to see Jamy put a filter over the video she was capturing of the special interaction. “Is there a filter? What have you done to my face!” The 34-year-old Grammy-winning superstar cried out in shock. “Whoa, girl! Take the filter off my face!”

The “Oh My God” singer stepped out of the picture but continued her conversation with Jamy and asked, “What’s your name? Why do you use such filters? We don’t look like that darling!” Barely able to get a word out when tears welled up in her eyes, she said calmly, “I know.” Adele comforted the fan by saying, “Okay, it’s everything okay!” and asked her to recall her favorite childhood memory.

Jamy started crying into the microphone, which entertained the crowd and prompted Adele to snuggle up to her. “Oh Jamy, don’t cry!” she said as she interacted with her emotional fan. The video was cut off before TikTokers heard Jamy’s full response, although the memory is known to have something to do with her mother.

Adele’s question led to her singing “When We Were Young,” a song from her 2015 album. 25 “‘When We Were Young’ is my favorite,” said Adele Carson Daly in Oct. 2015. “It’s so nostalgic. It’s written in the future, so about 20 years from now, and then you see that person and because so much time has passed and so much has happened between you two. And you get along so well. It’s just about enjoying each other in the moment.”

Adele’s residence made headlines over the weekend after she encouraged fans to get some alcohol in their systems so they can better enjoy their show. “Go and order some drinks… the drunker you are, the better I am,” she said on Friday, November 25, on the main stage at Caesar’s Palace.

Adele began her residency on November 18, having pushed it back to January a day ahead of schedule due to COVID-19-related delays. Before her first performance, she shared a heartfelt and honest message with her fans Instagram. “As of this writing, I feel very different,” she began. “I’m very emotional, incredibly nervous, but I can’t sit still because I’m so excited. I feel a million miles from home, I can’t stop thinking about when I was little and saw Tom Jones in Mars Attacks and thought how the hell did he get from Wales to Las Vegas!?”

She continued, “I’m always scared of shows and I take it as a good sign because it means I care and I just want to do a good job. Maybe it’s because I didn’t start when I was supposed to. Maybe it’s because it’s a premiere, maybe it’s because Hyde Park did so well, maybe it’s because I love the show, I don’t know. But it’s safe to say I’ve never been this nervous before a show in my career, but at the same time I wish today was tomorrow! I can’t wait to see you out there.”
