3. The most honored female guests are seated on the right hand of the male host. Her husband is to the right of the mistress. Seats to the left of the hosts are considered the second most important places at the table.
At a long table, the hosts should sit in the center facing each other. Other guests are seated in accordance with the etiquette of the order: first women then men, older people before young people, religious figures before officials and ordinary guests.
If possible, alternate women and men and, ideally, seat spouses so that all guests communicate with each other throughout the evening, and not sit in pairs.
