Cover properly
That’s why you should use MORE than one concealer
Think you just need a concealer? Wrong thought! We explain why makeup professionals always advise using more than just one product.
If you are annoyed by your dark circles under your eyes every day, you naturally use concealer. But what many people don’t know is that one is not enough to ensure that the result looks really natural and almost perfect. At least when it comes to beauty experts. We’ll tell you why!
That’s why one isn’t enough
More than one concealer? If you’re already panicking and think you’ll always have to get up 30 minutes earlier from now on, then we can calm you down. In terms of time, it hardly makes a difference – but for the result it does. But first of all, we want to explain why you need several at all.
When it comes to concealer, the most important thing is the color. But what many people don’t realize is that one color doesn’t necessarily suit every part of the face that you want to cover. We usually apply a slightly lighter shade under the eyes. On the other hand, we do not want to emphasize pimples and impurities, so you should use a concealer in your skin tone. If you counted, then that makes at least two concealers that you need in your make-up bag.
We want to shine
For the eye area, most makeup professionals recommend a concealer with light-reflecting pigments. The reason: These ensure that your eyes shine and you (feel) look a thousand times fresher. There are of course different concealers with different opacity – depending on how strong your dark circles are. For example, the Touche Éclat by Yves Saint Laurent is particularly light – a classic among concealers. For those who need a little more coverage, Charlotte Tilbury’s new Magic Away Liquid Concealer will get the job done. Both are designed to make the skin glow – which is exactly what we want.
If you have extremely blue – or even brownish – circles under your eyes, then a professional will advise you to use another product: a color correcting concealer. Depending on the color of the shadows under the eyes, these should have a peach or pink tone. However, only apply it to the areas that are really discolored. Then the regular concealer comes over it and no one will see any more of your dark circles.
Of course, this can all be a bit much in everyday life. If you need an emergency plan for dark circles under your eyes, you should use the concealer in your own skin tone if in doubt. This will make your face appear even and your complexion balanced. The eye area is not highlighted, but with a little blush and mascara you can conjure up a great “no make-up” look in no time.
Anyone who likes to take their time with their beauty routine should definitely try out the various concealers. We will definitely do it!
