Drake loves bling. And not just the Hotline style that catapulted him into the charts in 2016. He can’t get enough of glittery ruffs, souped-up bracelets and obtrusive, bigger-is-better rings. He has an OVO owl pendant, designed by the stars’ jeweler Ben Baller, which features icy blue diamond eyes and light pink diamond accents on his gold wings. He has a one off $100,000 gold and diamonds Stone Island medallionthat’s nothing compared to the insanely expensive ones Homer robe he stans – a dazzling cut VSS diamond necklace has a stunning sticker price of over $2,400,000, and he has a matching 41.23 carat bracelet worth almost $270,000. A serious “rich flex” – whatever that means.
Now, Drake is sporting another piece of jewelry that might trump anything else he has in his overflowing jewelry box. On stage at the Lil Baby & Friends Birthday Concert at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta this week, the Honestly forget it The rapper debuted a brand new necklace made up of 42 different sized engagement rings that equal 351.38 carats of diamonds. (Necessary? Definitely not. Impressive? Probably yes.)
The piece, which is a limited edition and is dubbed ‘Previous Engagements’ (sounds like one of his albums, yes), uses the emerald, princess and pear-cut round diamonds that Drake previously bought for the 42 times he thought thinking about proposing to a woman (Rihanna, Jorja Smith, Julia Fox, Sophie Brussaux…) Yes, Aubrey is in his feelings. Again.
While the rapper remained silent about the sparkling creation, jewelry designer Alex Moss was vocal. It was “a 14-month expedition, with each diamond hand selected and inspected to match only perfection,” he explained via an Instagram reel. “This monumental work of art was composed of 351.38 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold. New track titled ‘Previous Engagements’ for all the times he’s thought about it but never done it.”
