Aerosmith had some bad news on December 8th. “To all fans… we are so sorry to announce that we are canceling these final two shows in Las Vegas,” the band said in a statement on their Instagram. “On the advice of doctors, Steven [Tyler, the band’s singer] have to sit this out. Stay safe and see you in the new year!” The band noted that all tickets “purchased through Ticketmaster.com will be automatically refunded. All other refunds are available at point of purchase.”

That cancellation comes three days after the band postponed their show due to Steven, 74, who was dealing with a currently undisclosed medical condition. “Unfortunately, tomorrow’s show on Monday December 5th in Las Vegas has had to be cancelled. Steven Tyler said, ‘On the advice of my doctor, I’m taking more time to rest…there’s no place we’d rather be than on stage surrounded by the world’s biggest fans…'” the band wrote in another IG statement. “We sincerely apologize.”

Early in the summer, Aerosmith canceled some appointments so Steven could attend an addiction treatment program. “As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years,” the band said in a joint statement, per billboard. “Following foot surgery in preparation for the phase and requiring pain management during the process, he recently relapsed and voluntarily enrolled in a treatment program to focus on his health and recovery.”
