How to dermaplan at home: a guide

Would you like to take action right away and declare war on your facial hair? The best time to do this is in the evening, when you remove your make-up and clean your face anyway. In addition, the skin can calm down overnight from any minor irritations and shine the next morning.

The best things you should have ready for dermaplaning are:

  • an eyebrow razor, facial razor or special dermaplaning blades (please do not use normal body razors or men’s razors. These are not suitable.)
  • Face cleansing product
  • facial tonic
  • moisturizer
  • Sunscreen with sun protection factor

And this is how it’s done:

  1. Take your time and give yourself some rest with dermaplaning. This is very important so that you can work with a steady hand and do not leave any scratches or small cuts on your skin.
  2. Thoroughly clean your face. Preferably with a washing lotion or a cleansing cream. Afterward, it’s a good idea to apply a toner, preferably one that contains skin-soothing ingredients like aloe vera.
  3. Now you can with short and fast trains the face top down shave. A magnifying mirror can help you not to miss any spots. If you have pimples or pigment spots, it is better to avoid them carefully so as not to injure yourself in these areas.
  4. Wear one afterwards mild moisturizer on.
  5. After the dermaplaning you should definitely apply a sun protection factor, because your skin is more sensitive to light after the treatment than before. Without sun protection, unsightly pigment spots or sunburn can quickly occur – even in winter. So, think of one every day from now on Sunscreen with a sun protection factor of at least 30 (better 50 in summer)!

How often does dermaplaning need to be repeated?

The best way to do this is to observe yourself every day in a magnifying mirror. The speed of hair growth is different for everyone. But as a rough recommendation: You should repeat the dermaplaning every two to three weeksso that your skin can shine unhindered.
