Fans of the group may know the South Korean crooners well, but many others wonder exactly who they are. The band consists of Yeonjun23, soobin22, Boomgyu21, Taehyun20 and HueningKai20, and they have been singing together since 2019. In that time, they’ve become huge stars, with huge crossover vibes.

They debuted in 2019

Plans for TxT were teased by their record label Big Hit Music in 2017, but the band didn’t debut their first EP, The Dream Chapter: Starthrough March 2019. According to her website, her name refers to five people who “come together under a dream, hoping to build a better tomorrow.”

Since they started, they’ve only gotten closer. In conversation with NME In 2021, HueningKai said: “Our teamwork is certainly an aspect that continues to improve with every month and year we spend together. We can see each other as equals as a team and as individuals and support us on our journey of growth and I think that’s really a great thing! We are brothers.”

TxT made Billboard history

The band’s lead single “Crown” was a huge hit, even making Billboard chart history at one point. The track entered the US Billboard 200 peaked at No. 140, making it the highest-charting debut album by a male K-pop group to date. The song also debuted at number one in the Poster emerging artists Diagram.

They appear in several languages

TxT’s first two studio albums, The Dream Chapter: Magic (2019) and The Chaos Chapter: Freezing (2021), were written and sung in Korean. They have expanded their reach with 2021 still dreaming, which is sung in Japanese. It consists of six Japanese versions of previous Korean hits, two new instrumental tracks, an original Japanese track titled “Force” and the band’s previous Japanese release “Everlasting Shine”.

They are on the same label as BTS

TxT is on Big Hit Music, the same label behind it bts Success. They became the first boy band to debut the label since BTS’ blockbuster run began in 2013. The project was a long time coming. Big hit founder Bang Si-hyuk hinted at plans for the group back in 2017.

The group made it clear in a 2021 interview with BTS that they are not a BTS “little brother” band NME. “We’ve always shared our own story from our debut to this day, and it’s a story that many have been able to relate to precisely because it’s a very real story from people living in this generation,” they said. “We’ve collaborated with many genres to hone our musical skills and hone our sound, and through that sound we tell stories of our generation, a generation on the cusp of growth.”

They have big plans for 2023

The band announced plans to release the album The name chapter in November 2022. It follows her previous EPs The dream chapter and The Chaos Chapter.

They teased the album in early December 2022 with a dreamy concept trailer, which can be seen at billboard. In the teaser, TxT levitates freely before being pulled up by a demon using puppet strings. Stranded, they are forced to take a leap of faith.
